The 3-day swiss loop

Many of our travelers decide to add-on the Switzerland
loop, since they are already "in the neighborhood".
After 3 absolutely fantastic days in the lower and high
alps, they fly home to the beloved good old USA from
Zuerich airport.

a once in a lifetime ride

17 th century old town Zermatt
Day 1, Zermatt
The first day takes us straight south to Zermatt. Time to take the Gornergrat cogwheel up to the foot of the Matter- horn at 12,264 ft.  From here you can see 24 alpine peaks over 14/000 ft. high, absolutely breathtaking. Old Zermatt shows you how hard life must have been 300 years ago.

In some itineraries we include a ride down to Tirano/Italy. Train stops right in the middle of downtown.

Day 2, GLACIER EXPRESS
8 hours on one of the most exciting trains in the world,
from Zermatt to Berguen. These pictures are worth a
thousand words. Enjoy !

A remarkable feature of Switzerland's railways is that despite its small geographic size, the country has a thriving domestic rail freight system. This is made necessary by the country's mountainous terrains and strong regulations on truck transport, and is enabled by properly coordinated intermodal logistics.

The Albula Railway is a single track meter gauge railway.
Construction  was begun in September 1898. With its 55 bridges and 39 tunnels, the 61.67 km long ride is one of the most spectacular narrow gauge railways in the world.
On July 7, 2008, the Albula Railway and the Bernina Railway, which also forms part of the RhB, were jointly recorded in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
