Researchers from nine different German Aerospace Center Institutes are working together to come up with the train of the future. The vehicle that they're planning will be able to travel at 400 kilometers per hour. It will also be safer and more environmentally friendly than current locomotives.

German Rail rail maintenance works
Founded in 1914, Meiningen Steam Locomotive Works DB Rolling Stock Maintenance GmbH is the last major repair facility for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of steam locomotives in Western Europe, being at the German Rail rolling stock company's disposal.
In recent years, this factory has developed into a center of excellence for historic railway vehicles. In addition to the still dominant steam locomotives increasingly historical coaches can also be seen in Meiningen, as well as historical diesel locomotives, E - locomotives, railcars and modern snow removal equipment.
A major advantage for customers located throughout Europe is the fact that almost every part can be re-produced or procured for historical vehicles here...
